“Get obsessed, totally obsessed. There is no use to liking what you do, get obsessed with it” – Mario Testino
Because by being obsessed with what you do, you will automatically be happier. Think about it for a second…an average person works eight hours a day, for five out of seven days of the week. That’s 40 hours a week. That’s a lot of time to be dedicating to something you don’t absolutely obsess over, am I not right?
If you love what you do, you will not mind waking up early to go to work, you will not mind having to stay at the office late. But even more importantly, you will put more effort into your day to day tasks and will be more passionate and determined to accomplish what you’re set out to do. Passion goes a long way – skills can always be taught, but passion is something you either have, or you don’t. And let me tell you a secret – it is oftentimes obvious when someone is passionate and loves what they do – it can be seen in the way they work, the way they write their emails, the way they converse whether it be through written or verbal, and it can even be seen in their eyes when you’re standing face to face with them.
So go out there, and FIND WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO – then, try to find yourself a job in that field, in that industry. You may have to make a few sacrifices at first, and that’s okay – because ultimately, if the sacrifices now can lead you to (overall) live a life of happiness afterwards, wouldn’t you agree when I say it’s worth it?
