Quick Trip to Las Vegassssss!

I figured, if I’m on the West Coast, might as well make the most of it!

With the iHeartRadio music festival taking place in Las Vegas during the last weekend of September, I thought to myself that I had a valid reason to make the trip. Besides, I’ve never been to Vegas, yet I’ve heard so many great things about THE Strip.

By chance, I won tickets to the music festival for the Saturday night. As soon as I won those tickets, I booked a round trip bus to Vegas, and a private room in someone’s home (through Airbnb). I left on the Friday night, and came home Sunday afternoon.

I couldn’t even believe it. I actually could not believe that I had taken a bus to Las Vegas and that I was actually really there. Although I’ve traveled alone many times in the past, it’s always been to places I’m familiar with, and it’s always been to meet up with people when I get there. This time around, not only did I not know a single soul, but I had also never been to this city before, so I had no idea what to expect. I was very nervous, but I told myself that this would be an incredible experience, and one that I would be very proud of myself for having done at the age of 20.

George O’Keefe says it best …”I’ve been terrified [at times] of my life, [but] I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing that I wanted to do.” …and guess what, I never will. To do great things in life, to experience incredible moments and events, you have to step out of your comfort zone. You have to be able to do things alone, and you must be able to go into the unknown with confidence. An incredibly memorable day came out of this trip. Not only did I finally get to walk the famous Strip that is so highly spoken about, but I also got to see legends perform live, right in front of my face, along with other incredible performers. Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Zedd, Pitbull, Hailee Steinfeld, Florida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande…you name the artist, and they were probably there that night.

Besides, I met SO many people, that I never really felt alone – a die hard Arianator, a Britney superrrrrfannnnn, some girls from Germany, and a group of girls from LA, one who so happens to live 10 minutes from me and wants to meet up in the coming weeks. I’m so happy that l listened to my gut and I’m so proud that I didn’t let fear get in the way.

Dream big guys, and most importantly, do what so many are scared of doing: move the heck out of your comfort zone…you’ll thank me when you do, seriously!
